Math can be a difficult subject for little ones to master and often it means tears for our children and for us moms and dads as well.  The good news is that Math doesn’t have to be a tearful journey, in fact, this is one subject where you can have a great deal of fun. Incorporate fun games like trouble, Yahtzee, card games or make up a game that gets your kids using their skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Another great way to make learning fun is to find themed math worksheets that help students practice their skills. My youngest loves “fruit math” so whenever we work on drills I print off math worksheets that have a fruit theme. Colorful worksheets that are interesting to look at can easily turn boring math into fun math.

Reinforce your child’s subtraction skills with this ocean themed three-digit subtraction worksheet. Continue the fun of mastering their math skills with other great subtraction resources at Education.com!

I really do believe that the secret to creating lifelong learners is to make the learning process fun. You will definitely have days where you feel overwhelmed and you can tell that your children are feeling overwhelmed as well. Instead of pushing through and making a stressful situation worse step back and change up the routine. Put away the textbooks and play a game that incorporates math or print off a fun themed math worksheet. It’s okay to change up the routine and try a different approach it will benefit your children and your sanity too!

** A special thank you to Education.com for allowing me to share one of their themed worksheets 🙂 **
